Statement

As a multi-faceted artist, I thrive on flow and spontaneity in every form of expression, always striving to honor the creative process without judgment, aiming to elevate my work with each endeavor.

I like to draw energy and ideas from the dynamic interplay between music and visual art to craft corresponding paintings and songs that engage the imagination and uplift the spirit.

I work primarily with acrylic paints, gels and textured mediums to capture a visceral and dimensional feel to landscape, portrait and still life images.

Biography

Bridget Melody is a contemporary artist and Indie Folk singer/songwriter based out of Toronto On.

Coming from a mixed heritage of French Canadian, Mi'kmaq and Italian roots, an integral part of Bridget's artistry comes from her deep connection to land and spirit, as she draws creativity from the poetic mysteries of life. The traces of this inspiration are evident in her paintings through her use of palette, gesture and style.

Bridget is represented by the Art Gallery of Hamilton where her most recent works are available to view and purchase.

Bridget has exhibited her paintings at community art events and festivals throughout Ontario, including the Skylight Gallery in Toronto and the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford.
